In an effort to force myself to update this thing more than once a year, I will shortly be starting an episode-by-episode rewatch of five TV shows, reviews/comments posted here. The five shows will be:

So. Things suck at the moment. Nothing going on, and I lost another job. Yay. No real plans for Xmas or New Year's.
In less depressing news, saw The Hobbit. Fucking AWESOME.

Job Hunt Update
Aug. 22nd, 2012 06:07 pmThe $12 job did indeed hire me on the spot. I've already started working . . . but I'm out sick. Awesome. Should earn enough to pay 2 of the 3 bills anyway. One will just have to be a bit late.
The $15 job had to reschedule the interview. It's tomorrow, along with another interview I was offered since my last post. Fingers and toes crossed.
I'm still starving.

Adventures in Job-Hunting
Aug. 17th, 2012 05:19 pmSo, still unemployed. I had a job briefly in July that didn't work out, and another a couple weeks ago that also didn't work. I am now seriously broke.
How broke? If I starve for the next few weeks, my entire savings will cover half the bills due at the end of the months. Not good.
If I come up with $400 by the 25th (while starving), the bills should be okay. I have 2 job interviews on Monday, one of which is pretty much sure to hire me. So I'm not panicking anymore.
So far this month I've had 4 interviews that went nowhere. One I didn't do very well at; not surprised they didn't hire me. One turned out to be a door-to-door sales job; turned that one down (would not go well with my social anxiety). The other two went really well but I still wasn't hired.
I was going to have an interview tomorrow, but while scheduling, they got the impression that I wasn't interested and cancelled soon after. My utter lack of charisma strikes again. I was in fact interested; but it was only a one-day-a-week job, so I'm not bothering to chase after it. I can only laugh at myself. I don't know how I keep managing to do things like that.
The virtually-certain job I have lined up would pay $12/hr. Depending on when I start, that may or may not get me the $400 in time. The other job would pay $15, but is physically very strenuous and might start way too late to make those bill payments. The $12 job promises pay raises and possible promotions. Decisions, decisions.
Will see how Monday goes, and make up my mind then. In more boring news, weather is cooling down and a tree outside my window is already turning yellow.
Will also let you know how the Mr. Noodles and SlimFast diet fares. (Fuck, I'm hungry.)

So. I know I promised pretty pictures, but my brilliant memory struck again. Forgot to bring my camera. I blame being in a sleep-deprived haze while packing.
The visit with the folks was nice. Had a family friend over for dinner, got all fangirly over Once Upon a Time, petted the cats.
Drive back was uneventful. Rained all of the first day. Rocky Mountains very pretty. A couple of lakes were still half-frozen. Hardly any traffic.
My cat was thrilled when I got back. Poor girl gets lonely by herself. Scolded me thoroughly for leaving.
In other news, still unemployed.

Finally getting a car this week! Lugging groceries on the bus a massive pain in the ass.
Won't be around until Saturday, as I have to fly to BC to get the car, then drive it back, which takes 2 days. Will have pictures from the trip (pretty mountains!). Leaving tomorrow.

So, I've been absent for months. School kept me busier than expected. :(
But I'm available now. Or, will be in another month.
I'm going to the UK (plus a weekend in Paris)! Probably won't have internet access until I get back, but I finally got a digital camera, so there will be plenty of pictures. Plus pics of my cat.
